29.09.09 EFA congratulates SSW doubling their number of seats in the Schleswig-Holstein Landtag (29/09/2009)
EFA Observer member SSW, representing the Danish and Frisian minority in Germany, received in recent years increasing support from the population in Schleswig-Holstein (the Northern part of Germany at the border of Danmark). The election results of last sundays election again underlines this evolution. SSW managed to double its amount of seats from 2 to 4.
EFA congratulates the 4 Members Anke Spoorendonk, Lars Harms, Silke Hinrichsen and President of the party SSW Flemming Meyer.
EFA president Nelly Maes commented:
 "Again this is a great day for our sister party SSW. I congratulate President Flemming Meyer who lead his party to this victory. SSW and EFA working together, and the success in recent European eelection for EFA and for SSW in the Landtag elections, shows that diversity of identity and language is a key issue to voters throughout Europe."
